When Annie Rose was under going chemo at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, one of her favorite things to do was to play with Play-Doh. She and the other children that were there for chemo would use their imaginations creating things to entertain themselves.
Two years ago we learned that the hospital runs out of Play-Doh about mid year! We decided to post on Facebook and social media about the problem and that we would collect donations of Play-Doh to deliver to the hospital. We had several people bring boxes of Play-Doh to our home and we dropped them off at the hospital.
Last year we had such a tremendous response we had to rent a U-Haul trailer for delivery. In total we took almost 10,000 individual containers to the children. Due to the amount donated last year, they still had Play-Doh as of October of this year! This is wonderful!
We will start collecting Play-Doh in November!
